Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Matthew 11:28

Do you have a specific prayer request for a special child who is ill?  Is there a family we need to pray for?  Are there other concerns on your heart?  Is there a pregnant mother who needs special prayers for herself and the child/children she is carrying?  May you sense His peace in knowing that prayer warriors will come together and lay your petitions and burdens at the feet of Jesus.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12

Prayer Requests for a New School Semester ~ January 2012

It won’t be long until students will be returning to school after a long Christmas break.  On a college campuses, many students will be traveling great distances to return to school soon.   A new semester offers new courses, lots of choices, lots of decisions, and (unfortunately) lots of temptations.  So many students balance these classes with homework and working!  They have a lot on their plates!

There will also be students with aching hearts for the empty lockers, and empty seats of classmates that are no longer there when they return.  Our region has had several tragic accidents involving teen drivers during the Christmas break.

In the midst of breakfast in a rush, signing the paperwork, packing the lunch, writing the notes, sending the money, and getting the kids out the door, please remember the students, parents, and educators who need our prayers.

Hold tightly to the memories and moments with your children, as they grow up so very quickly.

I’m excited to tell you about an online version of the Compassion Prayer Network. According to their website, their office receives prayer requests from our country offices for a monthly prayer calendar that is sent to more than 18,000 prayer partners. As you know, prayer is needed for children around the world who desperately need God’s intervention in their lives.

Compassion International invites you to receive the monthly prayer partner calendar and letter from Mark Hanlon, Compassion USA Senior Vice President, as an e-mail. Receiving your prayer calendar by e-mail will save the ministry money, which will benefit Compassion children. The Red Envelope Project

What An Awesome God We Serve!  From what I’ve learned, more than 3 million Red Envelopes have been sent or pledged at this time.  Yes, there is still time to respond, so please take a moment to click on the link at the right to learn more about this project. As followers of Christ, we must take a stance for those in power to know we do not support the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) — and also do what we can to protect the unborn. The minimal cost of a red envelope and stamp could change the future of our country and the save the unborn.  Please join me in prayer for  millions of red envelopes being sent at this time, as explained in detail on the web site link provided.   Each red envelope represents a child who died because of abortion… before having a a chance to live.

Alexandra’s House – Kansas City, Missouri

Alexandra’s House is a charitable perinatal-infant hospice house and refuge for abandoned or neglected babies. Our first focus is to provide spiritual, grief and practical support to families pregnant with terminally ill babies and for families whose babies are diagnosed later with a terminal illness.

Operation Christmas Child – A Ministry of Samaritan’s Purse
